The yearbook is still on sale, so don't forget! Last month it was at is cheapest price ($20). We warned you. Now the yearbook for the month of February is 25 dollars.

For 8th graders that payed their class dues, the yearbook will still be 20 dollars.

The January's raffle is now over but, don't give up! If you didn't enter the raffle because you forgot to buy the yearbook, it's ok. There is going to be another raffle for the students that buy it this month. The prizes are board games, games and we'll keep you updated for other good prizes.

FRIDAY JANUARY 8,2010
Ricky, Anthony and Edward went undercover for you guys to see what the cafeteria workers were preparing. It seem like a quiet place, maybe a little to quiet. When we entered we encountered the manager and we had some questions for her. Here's how it went.
"Mam, we got some questions for you. First of all what is your name?"
Like a lady she answered, "Ms. Davis"
"When do you start preparing today's' food?"
"We prepare the food a day before but we don't cook it until the day we serve the food."
"What is your job around here?"
"I supervise, order the food, discipline the workers, meetings, and talk to the principal" she answered.
"Where do you keep the food"
"In the freezer storage"
"Who's the head cook?" we continued
"Ms. Vasquez and the minor jobs we rotate so that it won't get boring" Then for our final question we got them real good we asked them,"Do you add anything special to the food?" There's where the manager got quiet and there was silence for a minute. Finally she responded "It's a secret, we follow the recipe." Anyways they gave us the the menu for February.

We are reading this book named, Undone. This book is about two girls who used to be different because one of the girls is like a "fallen angel" and the other one is a computer geek. The computer geek is Serena and she creates video games. The other girl is Kori and she is the "fallen angel". Serena idolizes Kori and when they finally become friends it is so weird how they do!!! But the amazing thing is that the story takes a whole new turn and so does Serena this book because it is awesome!!!! Also Ms. Murphy recommends this t o. I recommend OK because it gets really good in some part of the book. She says, "Undone is one of my favorite books of all time. The friendship between the girls is really intense, and both of them are incredibly cool and like able." You will know if you read it!!!

Why is the Computer So Addicting?

We all know about the Internet but why is it so addicting?
People like it because of gaming, Myspace,Youtube,twitter,Facebook, and aim which are sites used to talk to your friends.
But what is it that attracts the human mind to these websites? Is it aliens trying to invade them? No. Whatever it is, it's very addictive and some of us can't go a day without using the computer.Maybe it's because you can play games on websites like y8, mini clips, and crazy monkey games.com. Or maybe teenagers just don't have anything better to do with their lives now a days.Maybe female/male teenagers like talking with their boyfriends/girlfriends or friends on Myspace, twitter, and Facebook. Some people are on these sites so frequently that they have over 1,000 friends(some of us refer to these kinds of people as Myspace freaks,etc.).There are some dangers to the world of Myspace and other social websites.

WARNINGS:

1. There are some sex offenders online that disguise themselves as teenagers.

2. There are serial killers to be aware of.

3. You could be talking to a stalker.

4. You talking to an over aged person but you wouldn't know that

History:

The bearded collie probably originated from the central European Magyar komondor or lowland Polish sheepdog. In fact, records show that in 1514 two lowland Polish sheepdogs were brought to Scotland by Polish traders. Although dogs strongly resembling bearded collies are depicted in art dating from the 18th century, hard evidence of the breed cannot be found until the early-19th century, when the first breed description was published. These dogs were tireless herders of sheep and drovers of cattle over rough terrain in the cold Scottish mists. Long popular as a herding dog in Scotland, after the Victorian era the breed also gained favor as a show dog. Two strains, the border strain, which was brown and white with a slightly wavy coat, and the Highland strain, which had a gray and white coat, have since been interbred and merged into one breed. After World War I, the "beardie" was once again bred solely for work. Their value as stock dogs made it difficult for outsiders to acquire one from their shepherd owners. Eventually, however, a few breeders interested in showing beardies were able to bring some dogs to England and then to America. The AKC recognized the breed in 1977. It has since become a prominent show dog and continues as a capable herder, although it is more popular as a competitor in herding trials than as an actual working dog.

Temperament:

The boisterous beardie is lively and playful, full of enthusiasm and energy. It is smart and obedient, but it is an independent thinker with a clownish sense of humor. It likes children, but it may be too rambunctious for small children and may try to herd them when playing.

Upkeep;

This active dog needs either a good jog, a very long walk or a vigorous play session every day. It especially enjoys herding. The beardie can live outside in cool climates, but it is happier when allowed access to the house with its family. Its long coat needs brushing or combing every other day.

The beardie is a medium-sized dog with a long, lean, strongly made body, which gives the impression of both strength and agility. Its gait is supple and powerful, with good reach and drive. The ability to make sharp turns, quick starts and sudden stops is essential in a sheep-herding breed, and the beardie must be able to keep this activity up for a long period of time under all conditions. Its coat is double with a soft, furry undercoat. The outer coat is flat, harsh and fairly straight; it is sufficient to protect the dog but not so much as to obscure the dog's lines. The beardie's expression is bright and inquiring.

This is the last book review I'm writing this semester so choose a book already!Most of these books have BIG A.R. tests and the ones that don't need A.R. tests! So read them!The book I'm reviewing is really awesome! It's called Evermore.It's about an orphaned teenage girl. she lost her whole Immediate Family(Mom Dad Brothers Sisters)In a huge car accident. She died too but while she was supposed to cross over her lazy teenage butt stayed and she didn't get to cross over so she came back. Now she can see people's auras (like a mood ring) hear thoughts, and she can learn people's life stories with the touch of her hand(WOW!!!!!!).Now you would think that's cool right?WRONG! now she just wants to be some one normal and not-psychic. Well, It's like all her dreams come true when Super fine Damen comes waltzing into her life and acting as her personal Off switch.She falls in love Blah blah blah Whatever! BUT when some strange things start occurring she starts to suspect Damen is behind them Read and see what she finds out!

This time of year is the time to get with your family and rejoice the coming new year and to show your love for each other not only by getting them something but by having fun with family and to be happy. Christmas is different in other religions but everybody still celebrates it either being happy with family or going to church and spend the night with your relatives. Some people think to celebrate Christmas you need to buy something for someone but I think you celebrate it buy just having fun with family with or without presents. This is the time of year where everybody has fun with family and with your brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and your parents. Everybody likes to be with family because even though you think that "Here comes another boring Christmas" but when they come everybody likes it when they come not just because of presents but because then you realize how much you missed them and don't care about the presents but of the family you missed for a long time. Oreo® 31° Below™ Pie

This weeks ice cream flavor is not actually just a random flavor like i post usally.This week i decided to talk about a pie. YES a PIE! This isnt just any old random pie this is an icecream delight. Like i mentioned before this IS a pie,but its not like any other pie its an ice cream pie. I think i said that twice?... =o Anyway, this delight is a vanilla Soft Serve blended with Oreo cookie pieces in a chocolate pie crust. It’s topped with chocolate-dipped Oreos, chocolate and a fudge border for a decadent Oreo dessert. This is probably the best pie you'll ever eat man its sooo darn good. Of course the only place you can get and try Oreo pie is at Baskin Robins. Any Baskin Robin should let you buy a pie this AWESOME!

Legend of the Week

Spooking in to this weeks legend is the Hellhound. The name "Hellhound" is one of many names used to describe this mystical evil creature. This creature seems to roam in hillsides and graveyards. The Hellhound is black dog with bright red eyes, super strength and speed. When they wake up they tend to trail fire and they make a terrifying messenger from the underworld. Legend has it that these creatures were created by a group of ancient demons to serve as a messenger of death! Some say one look at this creature or even three looks at this creature eventually leads to the persons death. Other names that they call this creature are Black Shuck, Cerberus, Garm and Perro Negro. This creature appears in the popular Harry Potter series and is referred as "The Grim." Sightings of this creature have most commonly occurred in the cemeteries from Connecticut, Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio. That's all for this weeks legend until next time.

Love is a feeling that feels great when you are going through it but, when you lose the person you loved it could break your heart forever. Hearts are mostly use to show love. Love means a feeling of attachment to anyone. You can also feel love for your family, for your friends, but all of them are not the same love. Love is a great feeling specially if the person you love also loves you. You could always love a person that does not love you. Sometimes the emotions associated with love are blissful. Ther are many different ways to love someone. When you say "i love you" to a person make sure you really mean it because you could hurt their feelings in a severe way. Most people have that feeling, but it doesn't mean that everyone would have it. Here is an amazing love poem you might want to share with your love:

Naruto is a young man who lives in the leaf village. He lives by himself because his parents were killed when he was young. His teammates are Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. Sakura is a short tempered girl and has a healing chakra(chakra is a combination of spiritual and physical energy that's helps a person form an attack).She has a crush on Sasuke, but he doesn't like her. Sasuke lives by himself as well because his big brother((ITACHI UCHIHA)) killed his whole village by himself. Now Sasuke wants to kill his big brother. Now the point for this anime is that Naruto Uzumaki wants to be the next Hokage.((Hokage means to be the one in charge of the whole village.)) Naruto is a really cool guy because he wants to be the next hokage and is really determined to reach his goal. In the first episodes the characters take an exam called the Chunin Exams. Unfortunately for Naruto, he doesn't pass the tests. The way that you pass it is by winning 8 missions and getting an OK from your instructor((Kakashi)). In those tests all of Naruto's teammates pass and he's the only one to fail.

Cats

Cats are amazing animals. They could be your best friend. All they think about is sleeping, eating and playing with you. A cat's heart beats twice as fast as a human heart, at 110 to 140 beats per minute. They run faster then us and they are able to jump higher. Your cat loves you and can "read" your moods. If you're sad or stressed out , you may also notice a difference in your cat's behavior. Cats have 290 bones in their bodies, and 517 muscles. Cats are some of the smartest animals in the world. The average cat sleeps between 12-14 hours a day. Those animals love to sleep. Of you teach your cat to use the toilet they actually learn to use it. Cats are always born with blue eyes. History
Known as the "king of terriers," the Airedale is the tallest terrier. Like many terriers, it counts the old English, or black and tan, terrier as one of its primary progenitors. These medium-sized dogs were prized by Yorkshire hunters for hunting a variety of game from water rats to fox. Around the mid-1800s, some of these terriers around the River Aire in South Yorkshire were crossed with otterhounds in order to improve their hunting ability around water, as well as their scenting ability. The result was a dog adept at otter hunting, originally called the Bingley or Waterside terrier but recognized as the Airedale terrier in 1878. As it entered the world of the show dog, crosses to the Irish and bull terriers were made in order to breed away from some of the remnants of the otterhound cross that were now considered less than beautiful. By 1900, the patriarch of the breed, Champion Master Briar, was gaining renown, and his offspring carried on his influence in America. The Airedale's size and gameness continued to win it worldwide fame as a hunter, even proving itself as a big game hunter. Its smart looks and manners won it a place as a police dog and family pet, both roles it still enjoys. After World War I, however, its popularity declined, and today its reputation is greater than its numbers.

Temperament
Among the most versatile of terriers, the Airedale is bold, playful and adventurous; it is a lively yet protective companion. It is intelligent, but often stubborn and headstrong. Some can be domineering, but most are biddable, reliable and responsive to their owner's wishes. It makes a good house dog as long as it gets daily mental and physical exercise. It likes to be the head dog and may not do well when another dog challenges that position, although they usually get along well with smaller dogs.

Upkeep
This is an active breed that needs a chance to get vigorous exercise every day. Its needs can be met with a long walk, a strenuous game or a chance to hunt and romp in a safe area. It can live outside in temperate climates, but it is better suited for indoor sleeping. Its wire coat needs combing twice weekly, plus scissoring and shaping (clipping for pets, and hand stripping for show dogs) every one to two months. Ears often need gluing as puppies in order to ensure proper shape as adults.

This week's book is one of my personal favorites.It's called A Great and Terrible Beauty.It takes place in 18th-century England and it follows 16-year-old Gemma Doyle's life in finishing school after her mother commits suicide.But life in this finishing school is not all that it appears to be. After she makes a couple enemies with some preppy girls and makes friends with the school outcast,she finds the boy she saw right before her died or,better yet, he found her.Now see what happens after ordinary Gemma Doyle enters not only the school gates of Spence Academy For Girls,but also the mysterious world of the Order.

Vampire Fever

Well due to the new release of the next movie in the twilight saga:New Moon, i have seem to notice that a lot of people every where are going through a serious case of vampire fever,and the only way to cool the fever is to read,watch,eat,google,and buy anything that has to do with vampires,and in some cases some people are doing the actual bitting just ask karen. i have a personal expirence to tell, the weekend New Moon came out, there was vampire this,vampire that, top ten hottest vampires,it was all over the TV. there were no decent shows to watch without VAMPS being mentioned. it was like the whole world paused to revolve around vampires.Quite annoying i might say since im 100% with the werewolves. it was extrodinary how vampires came back from the dead. Well not literally but they became popular over night.
BOOK SALES HAVE ROCKED!! The library has even made a speacial sci-Fi section and beleive me its always crowded.Me
myself am a bookworm. My favorite genre is the science fiction and although I ♥ Werewolves i do enjoy vampire books. A Vampire Boyfriend is something a girl will enjoy very much. Everyone just wants a little bloody taste of the excitment. But like all fevers it will eventually go away with a srtong advil. This malicious VAMP Fever will cool down by the next big thing. Who knows the next big thing might be the tellitubies. LOL =]

The Barber of Seville! [LA OPERA]

This week Tuesday, a bunch of students from LA Academy went on a fieldtrip to watch a very outstanding OPERA! first of an opera is a play or show that instead of people talking like they do in a movie they sing every word. Opera's are not in english they are in another language most of the time they are in LATIN. So most of us don't understand a word. Though the theatre does provide a translator at the top, to translate something in english but its not always there so you have to pay attention. The entire trip was amazing, and an experience like that is unforgettable. The Barber Of Seville is mainly about love and romance. Not like Romeo & Juliet, but there is of course conflict. The main characters in the story are:
Figaro, barber
Rosina, ward of Dr.Bartolo
Count Almaviva, alias "Lindoro"
Dr.Bartolo, doctor and foster father of Rosina
Don Basilio, Music Teacher
All of these characters play the biggest parts in the story. The entire story is based on love and forbidden love. The BARBER is the one who nearly causes the main idea of it. I rather not spoil the entire thing, but watching an opera is a great experience for anyone who enjoys drama, and stories that are told in way you can visualize it on a stage. The characters in this play sing at the top of their lungs, with no microphones or anything all natural. Hopefully someday you can experience what I or anyone who has gone to an opera soon.

Legend of The Week

Creeping in to this week's legend is the Lizard Man. It is said that this creature lives in swampland in and around Lee County, South Carolina. It has a human like form and is said that the Lizard Man has many reptilian or dinosaur like parts like, green, scaly skin and three toed feet and hands. People who have encountered this creature say that in each of it's fingers it has a round pad that allows this creature too climb on trees and walls pretty much like a gecko. It is 7 feet in height and is said that this creature is extremely fast and super strong capable of ripping cars open with its bare hands. Other people say it has glowing red eyes. A man claimed too be chased by a creature after stopping too switch his flat tire from his car. Other people found scratches and even bite marks on there cars. The sheriff says it was probably a bear. Later on people found a 3-toed, 14-inch footprint that was taken away from scientists too study but couldn't classify it as any type of animal. The Lizard Man has allot of history about its past. The Lizard Man was described as a serpent back then by the kings of Athens. The creatures legend stills continues today.

Tokyo Mew Mew by Socorro

Tokyo Mew Mew is also a great anime. In fact, it is my second favorite anime/manga. Tokyo Mew Mew is more of a girls anime/manga than a boys anime/manga but it doesn't mean that boys can't get interested in it. This anime/manga has action and romance. This anime/manga is about a girl named Ichigo Momomiya who lives a normal life until she starts acting like a cat. She later meets a guy named Ryou Shirogane who tells her that she is a Mew Mew. Her job is to find the other four Mew Mews and save the world from the aliens and the chimera anima. The Mew Mew girls have special genes so they were specifically chosen to become Mew Mews. Ichigo's DNA is merged with the DNA of the Iriomote Cat, so that is how she can turn into a Mew Mew (her Mew Mew form is a heroic neko girl). The other four Mew Mews are Mint Aizawa, Lettuce Midorikawa, Pudding Fong, and Zakuro Fujiwara. Mint's DNA is merged with the DNA of a Ultramarine Lorikeet, Lettuce's DNA is merged with the DNA of a Finless Porpoise, Pudding's DNA is merged with the DNA of a Golden Lion Tamarin, and Zakuro's DNA is merged with the DNA of a Gray Wolf. Ichigo is in love with her friend Masaya Aoyama but she has to keep her secret away from him. How will Ichigo stop ruining her dates with Masaya to save the world? Find out in this action-filled, twisted love anime/manga.

The little girl on the far left with the yellow hair is Pudding Fong. The girl with green hair (standing in back of Pudding) is Lettuce Midorikawa. The girl standing in the middle with the pink hair is Ichigo Momomiya. The girl with purple hair (standing behind Ichigo) is Zakuro Fujiwara. Last but not least, the girl standing on the far right with blue hair is Mint Aizawa.

There are many cats around the world from House cats to Wild Tigers. They're different colors and sizes but they're all just the same fluffy things we call KITTIES!First I'm going to talk about the most common House cat the Tabby. These little guys are so cute and fluffy that whenever someone is going to adopt a kitty they want a Tabby.(they are also the most common strays). These little guys are also Silver, Orange and Gray.

There are also Siamese cats, and as you can see most (or all) Of these cats are cross-eyed.They are mostly known for they're Black ears, face, and tail AND feet.You May also have seen Two if you've ever seen Lady and the Tramp or Date Movie. The one on the right is so CUTE!

Here's a strange sort. It's the rare ^African White Lion.I just wanted to show that one before I show normal lions. (cool huh?).

The new movie coming out next year on President`s Day is Percy Jackson & The Olympians. Most of you people in La Academy probably read the book already or are reading it now, let me tell you if you haven`t read it to read it now because the book is just book 1 of an awesome series. The movie is about Percy Jackson as he learns that he is no ordinary boy and that he is more important then he thinks when he is sent on a quest after some time that he learns that he is in fact a Demigod and that the gods of Olympus are still alive and that they affect most of the Western Civilization. He also learns that his birth father is one of the gods and the rest you`ll have to learn by either reading the book or waiting for the movie but I suggest reading the book because it has better details. All the info got for this post comes from me and the book which I read already and I hope you like the movie or the book.

Flying in to this weeks legend is the Jersey Devil. Its this weeks legend because legend has it that there was a women named Mother Leeds back in 1735. She had 12 children and was one New Jersey new resident's. She was married too a man who was an alcoholic and did very too help the mother take care of there 12 children. Later on she discovered that she was pregnant for the 13th time. Then she screamed out,"Let this one be the Devil!" The 13th child was born on a stormy night. At first the child seemed too be normal but then the baby transformed too a horrible creature ,and had hooved feet, clawed hands, glowing red eyes, bat like wings and finally a forked tail. This hideous abomination then slathered its own mother and father and most of its siblings as well. Later after this happened it flew out through the chimney and escaped to the Pine Barrens. No wonder the number 13 is a evil number. Other people say it has a head of a dog with a face of a horse, deer like antlers, a kangaroo's body, large leathery wings, a forked reptilian tale, cloven hooves and long, razor like claws. There had been many sightings of this horrible creature. Thats all for this weeks legend until next students.

Ouran High School Host Club is the greatest anime ever created. It is a great anime for people that love anime/manga about romance, comedy, and drama. This anime/manga is about a girl named Haruhi Fujioka who attends Ouran High School. She is the only student that has gotten into Ouran through a scholarship and she is a commoner.* Haruhi enters the Third Music Room and finds the Ouran High School Host Club.** An accident occurs and she is forced to join the host club because of it. At first the host club thinks that Haruhi is a boy because she has short hair and she was wearing guy clothes however, they slowly begin to realize that she is a girl. The members of the host club are Tamaki Suoh, Kyouya Ootori, Haninozuka Mitsukuni, Morinozuka Takashi, Hikaru Hitachiin, Kaoru Hitachiin, and Haruhi Fujioka. Some guys that know that Haruhi is a girl love her but, the girls that think she is a guy love her as well. You will have to read/watch it to know about all the twisted love that goes around in this anime/manga.

*Commoner: The rich people in Japan call average/poor people commoners. In this case, Haruhi is average.

Are ghosts real? You might have asked yourself this question ever and over again, but i bet you you really don't know the answer to this wierd question. You might have felt one or they have tell you about ghosts, but not everyone thinks ghosts are real, everyone has different opinions. This weeks anime of the week will be Vampire Knight because its the second best anime ever. This anime/manga is about a girl named Yuki -Cross that goes to the school Cross Academy. She works as a school guardian with her childhood friend Kiryuu Zero. The guardians protect the humans from the night class that consists of vampires; but the day class has no idea that the night class are all vampires, only that they're extremely beautiful. Kuran-kaname is the president of the night class because he's a pureblood vampire. A pureblood vampire is a kind of special vampire that can transform humans into vampires. Anyway, so when Yuki was a little girl she was attacked by a evil vampire, she was about to get bitten when Kaname comes and saves her. Ever since Yuki has been really attached to Kaname and loves him. Zero has changed his way, he and his family were attacked by a evil vampire too, but his family died, leaving him all alone. and ever since he's lived with Yuki. Now he hates every vampire even the honest ones. This anime has action, romance, and some horror.One thing you should know is that kuran-Kananme will do anything to protect Yuki from harm.Now Zero he is like a jerk at some point but, you could say he's awesome at some point when it comes to but kicking action.If you would like to know more about Vampire Knight then you should read this manga it is the bomb oh and it's also an anime if you like vampires then this you should watch this. I swear this will knock your socks off.

Have you ever been sugar high? NOT the "sugar high" where you see stars and colors and think kitty's are cute and stuff hahahhahaha...instead you're really hyper and get a sugar rush afterwards. Any candy can give you a sugar rush but mostly anything that has SUGAR!! You know like ice cream it gives you a brain freeze when you end up eating it fast...not like that has ever happened to me ^-^. Some people have a really bad reaction to candy ANY type of candy. Maybe not a bad reaction to it but it can get really UGLY and STICKY sometimes. Doctors call it Sugar High!. YES you can actually get HIGH on sugar. For one this is absolutely not the kind where you start feeling all bubbly and get addicted to an then go on a spree of killing for money , like drugs may do to some people. On the contrary, when someone is actualy really but i mean 100% sure they are sugar high well then they get these wierd feelings. For example when I eat too much candy like Twix,and Jolly Ranchers or sometimes i mix POP ROCKS with PEPSI [SODA] and get some weird feelings about animals. WEIRD right! Then i cant stop talking and go on and o and ON about literally NOTHING! People mostly my friends fin it funny but it isn't AT ALL! Afterwards, i get a MAJOR KILLING headache.Some people can just really love candy that they get addicted to it an then have to go into rehab. Where all those CRAZY people are,i think... The point is, that if you think you get sugar high to often well u should chillax on the good stuff, and try not to eat it to fast or else you're in for a MAJOR sugar RUSH!
By the way a sugar rush is when all the sugar in your body gives you so much energy you have no clue what to do with it, so you CRASH and get lots of mood swings.

The cute and cuddly animals we enjoy watching at the zoo are now going extinct. These furry creatures have the most erotic ideas to live there life. They enjoy living a somewhat normal life trapped in a zoo after being brounght from thier homelands in CHINA or anywhere around that continent. Pandas are very caring for humans they love everyone who loves them. Some where in this world there are people who prefer to see them dead, or in coats or to eat them. Pandas are some of the most intellegent animals known to human kind. They enjoy to sit around in trees and play around with thier companions. One of the most common healthy foods they eat is the well known BAMBOO! Bamboo takes years to grow for that same reason they have a special diet. Female pandas can only have cubs once a year during spring. Most of the time the female panda is pregnant concieving only two cubs at a time,but only one survives, at luck maybe both. Becasue female pandas can only reproduce once a year they can't reproduce thier population as well as any other species of animals. Unlike other animals or bears, pandas DO NOT hibernate. For years scientists believe that pandas go nearly all thier lives alone with only companion of friends, until it comes to the mating season, well you know what happens next... ^wink wink^ Pandas are used as logans for restaurants or shirts. Most common restuarant in the U.S. that uses a panda logan is Panda Express. They make best chinese food, and have a great logan...PANDAS!!! So now you know a little more of pandas and maybe someday in the future this will benefit you some how.

Ballet is a very nice dance. Some people think that is is only for girls, those are some people's opinions, not everybody thinks thinks the same way. To dance ballet you really need to practice and to work really hard to suceed in that carrer. Ballet was first danced in Italyn the early 1600s.In 1661, the first ballet school was opened in France. Today they still use the steps they use to use back then. Most steps still have their original French names. The ballet dancers you see on television, movies or at the ballet are usually professionals. They had practice a lot and work hard to be able to do those amazing movements.

My opinion is that ballet is for everyone, but you don't have to think the same way as i do. Ballet movements are in french language because it started in France. This movements are very hard to do. The constumes for girls usually is a tutu and some special kinds of shoes really hard at the end and boys usually wear tight costumes and a special kind of shoes too. This is a very interesting dance and great to perform and to watch.

Odd Animal of The Week

Crawling in too this week's odd animal is the horseshoe crab. It's this weeks odd animal because it is believed too be a prehistoric creature from thousands of years ago. This creature will only appear on June when the new Moon emerges and then it will simply disappear. The horseshoe crab is still a mystery too modern science and only shows up for one reason, that reason is too mate. This creature isn't actually a crab it got the name from early sailors that thought the curved shell from this creature looked like a horse's foot and that how this name came too be. This creature is more related to spiders than to crabs. This creature has blue blood, twelve legs, ten eyes, and can see ultraviolet lights invisible too us humans. Scientists yet don't where the horseshoe crab spends most of it's during the year ,so the only time they get too study them in is when they come ashore too mate. The females drag the males behind them ,and are waiting for an opportunity to fertilize there eggs. That's all for this week's odd animal.

29 Years of Mario

You may wonder why I am writing this well, I am more of a fan for star Fox, but Mario has way more games then Star fox, Mario has made over 200 games some were only released in Japan. Basically Mario is a Italian plumer who's assistant is Luigi. In all games the plot takes place when bowser {the villain} kidnaps princess peach and it is Mario and Luigi's job to defeat bowser and rescue the princess. Have you known that in one of Mario's games he was evil, his original name was jump man created Shigeru Miyamato. Jump man was then named Mario. Man Mario looks like he should be in his 30's instead of the 20's. My mom said that her first time playing Mario was Super Mario Bros. For me the first Mario Game I have played was Super Mario 64. I am not really fond of Mario but, it is one of the oldest games I know. The game I played was a Huge success It was Nintendo's first 3-D game. Man I hate the thought that people are total Maniacs for Mario, man I tell you may confuse them as crackheads. By the way I don't like mario he STINKS!!! I perfer STAR FOX!

If you love the Marry-Go-Round then you would definitely love the first "moving" skyscraper in Dubai, India. It was made possible by an Italian architect,the building's designer, David Fisher. The Italian architect said he was poised to start construction on a new skyscraper in Dubai that will be "the world's first building in motion," an 80-storey tower with revolving floors that give it an ever-shifting shape. You can literally see the floors revolving making the point of view in different angles in a certain amount of time.The spinning floors, hung like rings around an immobile cement core, would offer residents a constantly changing view of the Persian Gulf and the city's futuristic skyline. This skyscraper is not only a building, it contains malls, apartments, hotels, offices, and much more. Twisting floors are just one of several futuristic features in the building, the first of several Fisher hopes to build with a similar design. Giant wind turbines installed between every floor, he said, will generate enough electricity to power the entire building, and lifts will allow penthouse residents to park their cars right at their apartments.

This weeks legend is believed to be found in the Gobi desert. The legend creeping in this weeks is a worm, but no ordinary worm its the Mongolian Death Worm. Its this weeks legend because people believe its a mutated lizard. They say it might have mutated from a nuclear bomb a plane dropped there. People describe it as a bright red creature, making it look like a blood-filled intestine, is about 2 to 5 feet long and is about 2 inches thick with no vision and no tail. People say it also has sharp teeth with a circular sucker-like mouth. It is said that it can kill its prey from far without warning by shooting an acidic like substance containing venom into the victim's face. It is also said that it can deliver a very powerful eletric shock powerful enough too kill a camel! Now you you really have too watch your back in the Gobi desert. That all for this weeks legend.

Does Swine Flu really come from pigs? According to Webmd.com swine flu (aka H1N1) is a human disease. The disease is contagious through people not pigs. The disease was nicknamed swine flu because the virus that causes swine flu passed on to humans from pigs. The virus is made up of genes from swine, bird, and human flu viruses. The swine flu virus that attacked pigs isn't the same as human flu viruses.
Symptoms of H1N1 are pretty much like regular flu symptoms.Some of the symptoms are fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue and sometimes diarrhea and vomiting. Almost everyone with the flu has at least two symptoms however some these symptoms can also be caused by other conditions.You can't get the virus by eating pork, bacon, ham, or other pig meats. You can only get the 2009 H1N1 swine flu from another person.Some ways to help prevent getting the virus is by washing your hands with soap and water, especially after you coughed or sneezed. You should scrub for at least 20 seconds and rinse thoroughly. Avoid being close to someone who might have the flu.Try not to touch your mouth, nose, or eyes. That's pretty hard to do so keep your hands clean at all times.
Clinical tests show that the swine flu shot works great. The shot begins to work about eight days after vaccination. Kids under 10 years will need two shots. The shot is super awesome & really works and according to results from clinical tests, it's also safe on pregnant women!So now you pretty much know the basics of swine flu so watch out!

In the USA, an estimated 906,000 children are victims of abuse, making child abuse as common as it is shocking. Most children are abused physically as well as mentally. Children are abused in their homes and especially it is their parents who are doing this type of stuff or someone related to them. If you see this somewhere you should immediately report this. Child abuse is not just hitting your child for something they did, it is just hitting your child again and again for no reason, or telling them bad stuff that could harm them mentally.
Never hit your child just for a small reason they're just kids you know they don't know about bad stuff. Even though their parents are their parents they don't have the right to abuse them. If your child did something really bad just take a deep breath and do some stuff to relax yourself and RETHINK!

The game`s details and powered packed action is never failing because of its reality graphics and maps are an endless bloodied game. I have played this game and I was glued to it because it gives you this feeling of really being in the game. 90210!!! OH.EMM.GEE! 90210 is such an exciting show to watch. Its filled with backstabbing in the back!, love, drama, druggies, babies @ a young ages, mean texts, and a group of Rich Kids. :], there's this one part when the parents get high..lol it was pretty funny, & a lot more. Well 90210 is basically an area code in Beverly Hills located in California. 90210 had an oldies version along time ago. But now its back with better color and sound..eheheh..Oh and better actors.
Basically, the teenage kids have everyday problems just like us. But i guess there's are way more intense. For Example, there are crazy girls, bad boys "Matt Lanter", and most importantly mean people living in Beverly Hills. ha ha. You guys should totally watch it, the shows really interesting once you get to understand it. Right now its in season 2. Its at 8:00. Channel 5. The book I'm reviewing this week is Wicked Lovely.It's awesome!It's about a 17-year old who has the strange ability to see the faery (A.K.A. fairy)world. She has to keep this strange gift, or as she calls it ,curse, to herself or the faeries will kill her or pluck out her eyes, but when the faery king,Keenan,plans to make her his queen all her fears are realized.All the while her best friend ,Seth ,helps her deal with what she'll lose and what she'll gain if she chooses to become Summer Queen(which means she'll be able to control the faeries she feared/hated all of her life).Read and find out her decision!(Believe me it's awesome!)

The band called White Stripes was formed 1997 and since then has made 7 albums and having good reviews. The band came out in a Simpson's episode animated and played one of my favorite songs "Hardest Button to Button". The band is still making albums and still hitting hard reviews in the Billboard awards. The band is a Duo with Jack and Meg White. This is a band that has this beat that is only something you can do with only a Guitar and Drums.

Pet Abuse is something you should not do. Why? because is not right ,is like hitting your child or a human.Sometimes people buy pets and they don't feed them or give them love then whats the whole point buying them? Pet abuse is really bad stuff, just because you are mad or something doesn't mean you should just be hitting your pet. Just look at these poor pets, they have been brutally abused.

Legend of the week

This weeks legend is believed too be found deep inside caves. The creature lurking in to this weeks legend is the cave demon. People have said that they have seen it. It is said too be a human sized bat. People say it has black or gray fur, a monkey like face, clawed feet and a 10-15 foot wingspan. They are called different in many places like in Brazil they are called "the bat people", in Cameroon it is called "Olitiau", and in Senegal it is called "Guiafairo." In the rainforests of Java people hear the echos of this creature and is called "Athol" because of its distict "a-hool" voice. This creature is about 5 feet tall and is said too swoop down on people and attack them several times. In Indonesia tales are said of it roosting in an extinct volcano and snatch children. Odd Animal Of The Week

Jumping in too this odd animal of the week is the hairy frog. Its this weeks odd animal because it really has hairs on its bottom. It can be found in the waterfalls of Africa and is the only frog that has hairs in its bottom. Good thing the frog dosen't shave because those hairs are unique. They are actually skinny projections full of blood vessels. This lets this frog stand out from all the other amphibians. The frogs hairs help it absorb oxygen from the water. The frogs unique hairs will only during mating season so don't be confused if you find it with no hairs. They only appear during mating season because the hairy frog is a devoted dad. When the female has laid her eggs its the males job too look after them. Maybe it uses it hairs too stay under water more and guard its precious babies. Have you ever wondered how left handed people are differnt from right handed people? Well one thing, of course, is the hand they use to write with. But is that normal? Well yes and no. See, left handed people use the right side of the brain more and right handed people use the left side of thier brian.
Causing this:

→left handed people draw figures facing to the right. It
is also a way to distingish what hand artists use to draw.

→ Also twins have a high tendency for one to be left handed.Left-handers adjust more readily to seeing underwater.
→Left-handers excel particularly in tennis, baseball, swimming and fencing
→Left-handers usually reach puberty 4 to 5 months after right-handers

→Left-handers are generally more intelligent, better looking, imaginative and multi-talented than right handers - based on discussions among members of the Left-Handers Club!

Disadvantages:

» Using siccors
Cutting out simple shapes using scissors can be a real challenge for young left handed children forced to use right handed scissors. Left-handed scissors have the blades reversed so that the child can do the cutting line and so that the natural squeezing movement of the left hand pushes the blades together to make them cut rather than pushing them apart so that the card or paper gets stuck sideways inside the blades.

» Writting
Left-handed writing requires a correct grip and correct paper positioning. If they are made to write like right-handers, but using their left hand, they often end up with a very cramped position and a "hook" wiring style that is painful and slow - not great for exams in later life! As children start to use ink pens, a left-handed nib cut-off in the correct direction is essential if they want to avoid a blotty mess.

» Intellegence
Lefties have excelled at both ends of the scale - the very good and the very bad. They seem to make exceptional leaders, inventors, artists, musicians and murderers!

Left handers are very different from right handers BUT HEY! EVERY ONE IS UNIQUE.

The book I'm reviewing this week is a book you have ALL heard about.It's called Twilight .As you all may know it's about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. BUT! There's A LOT of things the movie DIDN'T show you. Like Where Bella and Edward had thier first kiss(P.S. Bella and Edward kissed more than once(!!!!!!!!!!)).And by the way Victoria isn't supposed to look like she got back from a shopping trip.James and Laurent are supposed to have SHORT hair.(P.S.S.Victoria shouldn't be talking) Anyway, all I'm trying to say is that the book ROCKS and the movie SUCKS!(P.S.S. Great American Past Time by Jesus, Valentine, & Alex

LET'S GO YANKEES!! Well the Phillies started strong with the first game won but the Yankees
turned out to be the better team. With the first game lost by 5 runs the Yankees confidence
never broke. The Yankees won the following three games. Putting the Phillies in a lose-lose
situation.

The first game was in Philadelphia and the home team dominated. I don't think any one expected
the Phillies to loose the following three games. Then the Philies won the next game at their home
putting the series 3-2.The two teams traveled to New York to play game 6. Yankees win the game
7-3. The Yankees lost the first game 6-1, the Yankees later dominated the series winning the next three
games 3-1, 8-5, and 7-4. But the Phillies kept trying and won the next game 8-6, making the series 3-2, the
Yankees holding on to the game lead they had over the Phillies. Then on November 4Th, 2009 the Yankees
at home dominated the last game winning the game 7-3.
Maybe next year Philadelphia.

The first Burger King was in Miami and established in 1955.Between the 1960's

and the 1970's the first animated version of the king came out.Their first slogan

was ''Burger King, where kids are king.'' Later on they change their animated

version of the king.

McDonald's went crazy because of that. Then McDonald's came up with some other

characters.The worst enemy of Burger King is McDonald's. McDonald's came out first.

I preferred Burger King. But the one that sells more is McDonald's. Why I don't know

because Burger King's fries are better then McDonald's.

But I had ask people and they preferred McDonald's.

It comes out on the CW aka channel 5. The show is about a vampire dude and his evil bro, that both like this girl named Ellena. Ellena is a normal girl that gets caught up between nice cute Stefan and cute bad Damen, and they both like her alot! but Ellena only likes Stefan and not Damen. But they are hiding a mysterious secret.The Vampire Diaries are in the schools library, if you would rather read then watch.

One of the very poisinest creature in the world is the box jellyfish, Jellyfish box can be found in the waters around Asia and Australia. it is rated number one poisonest animal on world photo collectin(website).

The box jellyfish has caused at least 5,567 recorded deaths since 1954. Their venom is among the most deadly in the world. It’s toxins attack the heart, nervous system, and skin cells. And the worst part of it is that jelly box venom is so overpoweringly painful, that human victims go in shock, drown or die of heart failure before even reaching shore. Survivors experience pain weeks after the contact with box jellies.

Death Lurks Every where you go...

Have you gone camping, or sleep at a relatives in the desert, or swim in the ocean... have you ever thought that death might just be around the corner waiting to strike at the moment you least expected it. Mother nature may be your cause of death, by animals that today has sent thousands to hell without warning with just little bite, sting.

People around the globe are being killed by a poison animal the rates of people dieing have risen, mostly in the desert. People in Mexico trying to go and cross the border are killed by poisonous wasps, bees. They may be also be killed by a rattle snake, scorpion. People never survive because most of them do not have a antidote to save them. Somewhere in Arizona lies a beast known as the Heala monster a bite from that critter sends a pain and shock to your body that feels like fire burning you ALIVE...

As we journey to the ocean another beast lies there it it the sea snake. The venom is the most potent than any other land snake in the world, many people are killed by it, it paralyzes you and you can't move, cant swim to safety, can't save your self unless a friend is with you.

We move forward to the city, forest, lurks the widow spider one of the spiders that has venom it has a red spot. It has killed many people have been beaten, but luckily their is a hospital around to save them.

Every where we go we must have caution we never know when death will strike...

The rock band called Three Days Grace was fonded in 1992 and the band regrouped in Toronto, 1997 after they disbanded. The bands first album was released in 2003 after they released its first single "I Hate Everything About You", the song whose demo got them their record deal. The name of they`re first album was called Three Days Grace.

It is said that while touring, Aadm Gontier became depressed and started taking drugs and alcohol.While in rehab he started writing material for another album. When he came out of rehab, he rejoined his band mates to finish writing the material. When the new album released in 2006, One-X, Gontier said that the material for was more personal for him.All of the bands albums have ended up in high ranking for the billboards award.

Derby Race

The annual Science Project for 8th Graders this year was The pine wood Derby. Unlike last year it was a roller coaster competition. When asked Mr. Miracle "Why did you guys have roller coaster competition last year & derby this year?" He answered " We want to keep it fresh and unexpected." We also asked "Why did you do a Derby?" He said " It goes along with our motion and force unit." Two of the winner's of the Derby were Marvin & Martin. The race was interesting and the cars cool with awesome colors. After all the racing and excitement they ate pizza happily and that was the end of the pinewood derby. Let's see what the 8th Graders will do next year!

Odd Animal Of The Week

Climbing in too this odd animal of the week is the aye-aye. It's this weeks odd aniaml because it looks like a bunch of different body parts. Even though its a primate it dosen't look similar too us humans. Too form this odd lemur you will have too get the head of a rodent and the ears of a bat. Combine this with the tail of a fox, the hands of a witch, and finally the body of a monkey. Together you will get the oddest primate of them all, the aye-aye. This nocturnal lemur can be found in a place called Madagascar. In 1780 when a naturalist first dicovered the aye-aye they classified it as a strange species of squirrel. Even though the aye-aye 's body part collection seem strange you won't think of that when you it hunting. The aye-aye use's it bony middle finger too open up wood. It does this too get the grubs in it and it has no problem opening wood up because it has teeth like a beaver. This primate is very shy so keep an eye on it if you search for it. No Child Left Behind needs all public schools to make a state-wide standardized test. All students take the same test under the same conditions annually to all students. In other words LONG BORING TESTS FOR EVERYONE! and it was signed by President Bush! If the school's results are repeatedly poor, then a series of steps are taken to improve the school. If the the school is requiring "corrective action," which involves actions like the replacement of all the staff, introduction of a new curriculum, or extending the amount of time students spend in class. On a NCLB-mandated test, a group of blind students had their scores cut out (reported as zeros) because the testing rules did not specifically allow for test readers to speak. And they needed the readers to speak or else they won't know what the test problem is! NCLB's focus on math and english language skills that taking away physical education in school, and that has helped levels of childhood obesity rise.
