Art or Graffiti

By: Norma, and Dennise

I, Norma, think the difference between graffiti art and gang graffiti is that graffiti art shows emotion, how someone feels and what they think on a certain object or idea. Most people do it to decorate the streets, mark territories, their probably in a gang or crew. I enjoy taking a good look at tagging and spend a lot of time studying it because to me its interesting and cool.

I, Dennise, also believe that graffiti art and gang graffiti also has completely different meanings. Graffiti art is used to express peoples feeling or maybe to show talent. On the other hand gang graffiti is used to mark territory, like Norma said, or other silly stuff. It is good to study graffiti art once in a while. Try to figure out what the art is saying and the meaning of it.

<---- This tagging was done by a student named Angel A. This tagging is taken' as graffiti art, done for fun.

Some of the things people think

Edward, a student at LAAMS, was asked what he thinks about graffiti, and he said,

" Graffiti is a piece of art."

Unlike Ricky, another student at LAAMS, was also asked this question and said,
" It is illegal and creeps me out."

We interviewed Anthony and these were his answers:

Question : "Do you think graffiti is a good thing?"
Answer : "Graffiti is cool and it expresses your style and your individuality."
Question : "Have you ever thought on making a painting or tagging on the wall?"
Answer : "No because i don't know how to paint but it seems cool."
