My Chemical Romance is an alternative/pop and punk/pop band from Newark, New Jersey. Band was started with the lead singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier. They started writting some songs when they wrote their first song "Skylines and Turnstiles" after Way witnessed the attacks of 911. The band was conmpleted when lead guitarist Ray Toro, joined nad when bassist Mikey Way(Gerard's little brother)joined after finishing college and learning how to play bass, and guitarist Frank Lero(he's a veggie), joined Way and Pelissier. After the band was completed they started making their first album.
In 2002, Eye Ball Records released My Chemical Romance's debut album, "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". Way has said that the lyrics had helped him clear his mind from his problems(which included severe depression, drug/alcohol abuse, and a serious illness in his family). The band was compared to Thursday since they both were from New Jersey and had records for Eyeball. In 2004 Matt Pelissier departed and soon got replaced by Bob Bryar; and today he is the drummist.
