Why Don't People Think About Disabled People and Their Needs?

My name is Socorro Torres and I am going to talk to you about a very serious situation. Hasn't it ever crossed your mind that disabled people aren't treated the same as people that can walk? It probably hasn't. Adolescents usually don't think about serious things going on in the real world because they are usually concentrating on getting a good education. You see that buses have lifts to allow disabled people to travel on them but, let me ask you something. Have you ever seen a disabled person, in a wheel chair, board on an airplane? I think not. I have a disabled brother so it is very hard for my family to go visit my grandma because she lives in Mexico. The government talks about having no discrimination however, they are discriminating against disabled people. They should have a place where they can strap the wheelchairs into an airplane so disabled people can sit with their family members.
We should all start thinking about disabled people and their needs because they are humans just like us. Don't discriminate against them just because they can't walk. Many people have health issues but people discriminate against disabled people more than others. We are all equal and we should all be treated equally. Remember, the next time you see a disabled person, treat them as if they were family.
