Band Of The Week:Bullet For My Valentine by Martina

Bullet For My Valentine is a Welsh Metalcore band from Bridgend that was formed in 1998.The band is composed of Matt Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar),Michael Paget (lead guitar), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John, and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana . Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were later reworked in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. Financial difficulties dictated the name change, which was followed by a change in music direction. In 2002, the band secured a five-album deal with Sony BMG. Their musical style is said to draw from such bands as Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Slayer.
Bullet for My Valentine's debut album, The Poison, was released on October 3, 2005 in the United Kingdom and on February 14, 2006 in the United States to coincide with Valentine's Day. The album entered the Billboard 200 in the U.S. at number 128. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The band made appearances at the Download Festival and Kerrang! XXV, and undertook a U.S. tour with Rob Zombie. Bullet for My Valentine's second studio album, Scream Aim Fire, was released on January 29, 2008 and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200.

Do you like our schools Hot & Spicy 4 Chicken Strips? Well they're not too healthy, just so you know they have
337.31 calories, 16.66gm, 20.86gm. The chicken fingers, especially with regard to children, is stunting
Americans' palates. For all the talk of obesity in this country, would it hurt a child or a parent to order something a little
more nutritious and tasty than a deep-fried piece of meat? Since chicken fingers cannot really be made at home (unlike
a delicious burger, which is merely slapping a handful of ground meat on the grill) without much prep and oil, there is no
incentive to keep eating them. They are, essentially, junk food for dinner.

Are Sharks Evil?

In my opinion no, beacause sharks turn wild for blood and are attrackted to vibrations in water. So it isn't a real good idea to swim in the ocean. I'd rather swim in a pool or lake, instead of attracting them near me and getting killed.
People think sharks are evil creatures who kill people, since they got the idea from the movie Jaws. Actually sharks are not smart; they eat anything they see. They bite it because they feel through biting.
Sharks rarely eat people. It is more likely to get stung by a bee then bitten by a shark . People are bitten by sharks once a year around the world.

The top three dangerous sharks are great white, Tiger, and the bull shark.

Although sharks today are endangered by products, or just for game. People make pills,lipstick,fin soup,and also just for their teeth as a neckless.

If people do not stop killing sharks we will lose nature's fiercest preditor. Its not just that its also pollution dirty oil barrles, bags , old boots,oars, and E.T.C. Waste has been found in side a sharks stomach.

We should preserve these creatures. Also we should not judge a shark by its cover.

Lastly never swim away from a shark. Roll in to a ball unless you want to die.

Burritos are awesome!
They have Carne Asada- in my opinion,
the best meat ever!!- brown beans,
and rice wrapped in a giant flour tortilla.
The sauce is optional- and can come in the burrito
or separated(outside). The sauce comes in two flavors- really spicy(green sauce), or really,
really extra spicy(red sauce).
Even though the food may get you kind of fat, you will still enjoy it.
A burrito there can run you(cost you)about $5.00 or more + tax.
They might cost a lot(if you think they do) but they are well worth they cost.
The tacos are about $1.00 + tax but they come with different meats each
if you want them to. They have Carne Asada, Chorizo, Lengua, Pastor, Cabeza, Tripa.
It tastes really good!! I have eaten there for a couple of times, and every
time they taste better.
Inside there are REAL bullheads hanging on the walls, but don't worry they won't
bother you while your eating.

The Life of a Rapper: Eminem

Marshall Bruce Mathers III aka Slim Shady and Eminem. This strange evolution of a rapper exploded onto the US charts in 1999 with a controversial take on the horror core genre. Slim shady endured a traveling childhood, living with his mother in various states before eventually ending up in Detroit at the age of 12. He started rapping in high school before dropping out in ninth grade, joining ad hoc groups Basement Productions, the New Jacks, and D12. The newly named Eminem released a raw debut album in 1997 through independent label FBT. Infinite was poorly received, however, with Eminem earning unfavorable comparisons to leading rappers such as Nas and AZ. His determination to succeed was given a boost by a prominent feature in Source's Unsigned Hype column, and he gained revenge on his former critics when he won the Wake Up Show's Freestyle Performer Of The Year award, and finished runner-up in Los Angeles' annual Rap Olympics. Interested in meeting someone totally awesome?! Well Mr.Pascascio is the perfect guy! Not only is he half Asian & half African American, but he's also a teacher! A very cool teacher! He's 28 years old and has been happily married for 2 years. He has no kids or any plans to have any so far. His hobbies include basketball and on cold weekends he enjoys wrapping himself up in a blanket with his wife and watching movies together. On hot weekends he likes going to the beach. He also enjoys watching Family Guy and The Simpson's and even Freaky Friday! He likes funny movies and any food that's been fried, however he doesn't like eel. He even had an Afro in college!!! Sure he likes his job as a teacher but that's only 99% of the time the other 1% he doesn't because of grading. He's always dressed sharp to show off his good looks. The most important thing about Mr.Pascascio is that he too is a Megan Fox fan!

The animal of the week is the MONKEY or for nerds CHIMPANZEES, they are very energetic and some people think they are very funny animals. There are different type of monkeys like the gorilla,orangutan,and others some people Edward think they rob people. Monkeys can be very dangerous when they want to fight or are threatened. 1)Why did you decide to become a teacher?
Ms. Dilthey: "I decide to be a teacher because I enjoy being creative projects and seeing students learning from it."

Ms. Dilthey: "What inspired me to become a teacher was that I was a guest speaker and I loved it so much to change my career."

Ms. Dilthey: "I decide to teach English because i think it is the key for life. And Social Studies because I like to learn about history."

wipeout is one of the most hilarious show there is on television.
Wipeout is on Wednesdays at 9:00 on ABC channel 7.
wipeout is a show where normal people compete for the gran price of $25,000 to $100,000.
The big red balls are my favorite.They are 4 total, in which the contestants have to jump from one ball to another.
They are freakishly big, so big that in fact most people, who try to
cross them end up kissing the balls face-first.
The people who usually are able to cross them,
are people with long legs.

In the beginning there are 24 contestants. From those 24, 12 lucky contestants pass towards the next level.
One step closer to the cash prize.
Wipeout is based on three basic levels.
The first level is the big balls which the contestants have to cross
with the best time.
The second consists of the 12 remaining contestants to have a run across
a much harder obstacle. They are spun around, and around for 1 minute.
They are chosen to cross water logs( foam logs in water ) before the other contestants.
When one contestant crosses the finish line, the other contestants must start all over.
The obstacle ends when 4 contestants have gotten to the finish line.
The third and final obstacle is based on sliding down a big water slide and ending up as close as you can to the obstacle.
Once they complete the entire obstacle the other contestants try the obstacle, and the one who finishes the obstacle wins
the cash prize money.

What Kids Like About School

Kids do not like to come to school and do work all day. `
They like to come and do some work, but they also like to
have fun at school.They also like to come and do cool school
projects, and they also like to go on fun field trips.
Kids also like to come and play sports in P.E because it's one of
their periods were they can have free time and just hang out
with friends.
I think what the kids like more is the nutrition and lunch period. They
like to go and hang out with friends. Some teachers get annoyed by their students, but that's because they don't do anything fun with them.

We interviewed Marvin 8th grade C track and he said that two main reasons
he likes coming to school is first, he likes coming to school to see his girlfriend
and the second, reason is to come see his friends.
We interviewed Jenny 8th grade B track and she said, "I just like being here because at home it's really boring. And I also like coming because
I want to succeed.

Have you ever thought what your teachers thought about you? I interviewed two teachers to know what they think about their classes. Those teachers are Ms. Dilthey and Mr. Zeccola.

What makes teaching hard?
Mr. Zeccola: What makes teaching hard is to make sure the kids are paying attention to me and that kids who are not are not disrupting the class.
Ms. Dilthey: The hardest thing about teaching is motivating students.

What do good classes do?
Mr. Zeccola: Good classes stay on task, pay attention, and they end up having fun.
Ms. Dilthey: Good classes ask a lot of questions. They have important discussions, learn from their mistakes, and from others.

What do students do to satisfy you?
Mr. Zeccola: When kids are learning and laughing and doing their work.
Ms. Dilthey: Good classes satisfy me by having independent thoughts, being creative thinkers ("outside the box") and being kind to each other.

Now I am no expert, but if you want to be your teacher's friend or student of the month, do or apply these things.

Why Do We Have Geometry?!

Anonymous, a geometry teacher, says, "4 years ago LAAMS had geometry classes in each track. The district removed geometry in LAAMS because, every time a district assessment came up, the geometry classes had no test for themselves. Now it is back this year because the public demanded it.
Anonymous says, " I think my students are doing what they are supposed to do because I push them to make sure that they do their work and learn the material."
We have geometry because of the public's demand.

DC UNIVERSE it is a fighting game and it includes two different worlds that I think you will love.Mortal Kombat is a violent place of realms and sorcery it has one fighter that i think everybody likes SCORPION! There is also a world that thinks they are the invaders it is called DC, DC is superheroes like superman and batman. They have two different ways of looking at it. Mortal Kombat thinks that DC is taking over the realms and DC is thinking that they are from hell aka apocalypse. They have been starting to fight each other and the wierd thing is that when there really mad and turn yellow wich is called rage. There are two major bad guys on the loose, there name is Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat and Darkseid from dc. Both worlds thougt they destroyed them but it is worse. Instead they made a powerful creature that give tham the rage its name is Dark Kahn. Both of the worlds are going to have to fight together in order to destroy it. WILL THEY????????

The most popular fighting game and the fighting game of the year is ... have you guessed it ... I,ll give you a clue it has all of every one's favorite characters of Nintendo. It is SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL! Smash Bros. is those games where you get addicted to in my opinion. It is mainly about fighting, but until Melee came out they've added adventure mode. Brawl has been the best seller of the whole smash series , but that's just the point. It has great graphics, new characters, lot's of new stages, yet it has 38 characters .
Though have you wondered how this game became so popular... well it all starts in the beginning where it came out for Nintendo64 it was the first one in the series:SUPER SMASH BROS.64 it first release was in japan in a convention.It was brought in the U.S in 1999, but still was not the best fighting game yet until Brawl came out in 2008.

Today people have bought millions of copies around the U.S and Japan.

Michael Jackson's Death Case

Michael Jackson died at 5:20 pm date of June 25th,2009.
Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier that same afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him, I know sadly for his fans all around the world. when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA states that Jackson died of cardiac arrest.
One of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911 to give them the horrible news.
Once at the hospital, the staff tried to bring him back to life but he was completely not responding.Inside the hospital there was "absolute chaos" after Jackson arrived. People who were with the singer were screaming, "You've got to save him! You've got to save him!"They did not want the "KING OF POP" to die because in my opinion he had a lot more to give.
La Toya ran in the hospital CRYING after Jackson was pronounced dead.
Michael has left three children in great grief: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

I'm really shy and I like this guy
I'm a freshman and I have a crush on a junior that lives down the street from me. I think I screwed up, because I was too shy to approach him, so I wrote him a note that said "Hi, what's up, etc" and had my friend give it to him. A month later, before homecoming, I wrote a note that asked him if he had a date to homecoming, but he never answered. Is LAAMS Really Haunted?!

Is the school really haunted? Some students believe that our school is haunted, for example they think that you can't go to the bathroom alone because it's haunted! We thought of the one person that might know about these rumors being true or false; the janitor. We went to go interview him to find out the truth. The answers he gave us were not what we expected to hear (they were mostly no).

Us: Have you seen or heard anything that might show that this school is haunted?
Janitor: No. Since I've only been here for 2 weeks I haven't seen anything strange or nothing at all.
Us: Do you even believe in ghosts?
Janitor: Yes, but that's from personal reasons I won't say.
Us: So you don't think the school is haunted?
Janitor: No, I mean first of all this school isn't really even that old so I don't think there would be any spirits around here so no I don't think this place is haunted.

We also asked a couple teachers what they thought about the school being haunted and they too thought it wasn't likely that the school would be haunted. So to conclude not only do me and Edson think the school is not haunted but so do the teachers and staff.

Komodo dragons are the heaviest lizards on Earth.Reaching 10 feet (3 meters) in length and more than 300 pounds (136 kilograms). They have long, flat heads with rounded snouts, scaly skin, bowed legs, and huge, muscular tails.
As the dominant predators on the handful of islands they inhabit, they will eat almost anything, including carrion, deer, pigs, smaller dragons, and even large water buffalo and humans. When hunting, Komodo dragons rely on camouflage and patience, lying in wait for passing prey. When a victim ambles by, the dragon springs, using its powerful legs, sharp claws and, shark-like teeth to gut its prey.
Animals that escape the jaws of a Komodo will only feel lucky briefly. Dragon saliva is stuffed with over 50 strains of bacteria, and in less than 24 hours, the wounded creature usually dies of blood poisoning. Dragons calmly follow an their pry for miles as the bacteria takes effect, using their keen sense of smell to work on the corpse (they eat it ALL -no bones left-). A dragon can eat 80 percent of its body weight in a single feeding (That's big!!!!!).

This show is the only show that's broad casted on a roller coaster.The roller coasters are at Knott's Berry Farm.They randomly choose people that sit down in the chair that has video camera attached to the front of it but they are not aware of it. The host Lamorne Morris scares people and then tells them that they are on Brainrush and they are gonna be asked random questions to answer and earn $25 dollar for each right answer.They have to go on 3 rounds and the 2 highest money earners move on to the second round. During the 2nd round the 2 contestants have to pick an envelope and in 1 is a game came represent and in the other is a game called the regurgitater. The game called represent is when the host says 3 words into the contestants ear and they have to look for 3 familiar signs on the ground and they have to remember them. If they remember them all he/she gets $300.Then as for the regurgitater the host recites a shot story and then the contestant is asked questions about the story and if he/she gets them all right they get $300.Then the top money earner gets to move on. Then they have a choose of eating some food for $100 and if they can eat it the don't get the money.Then the real challenge is the 3rd round and the have to choose a category such as penalty box all about sports, know it all which is all about knowledge and so on.Which ever 1 the person chooses they have 1 question that has many answers 2 it and for every answer they're money doubles.Finally when they answer that question they have a chose of doubling that score by answering 1 more additional question to double that score and blast off on the Excelorator and if they get it wrong they're money would drop 2 half of their total score.

At our school, Los Angeles Academy Middle School, many people pass by our school and think that the "school" looks like a prison. A student named Edward that is currently in seventh grade says, "The school looks like a jail because the P.E. field looks like a cage that was meant to hold prisoners." Another student named Franklin says, "The bars on the fence look like the bars of a jail cell." A student from seventh grade named Anthony says, "The school looks like a prison." That's when, Casey, Socorro, and Franklin, started to think, 'Why don't we ask a teacher?'.

We went and asked Anonymous why they thought the school looked like a jail. Here's our answer. "The school was actually built to be a Juvenile Detention Center but, parents said that they didn't want to have a Juvenile Detention Center in the neighborhood and that they needed a school much more than that because the only school close by was Carver MS. So it was decided. They built LA Academy MS however, they built it with the blueprints of the Juvenile Detention Center so that is why the school looks like a jail." Well, Anonymous pretty much summed that up for us didn't it? So now we know that the school was meant to be a Juvenile Detention Center. Well this has been news from Casey, Socorro, and Franklin and we're out!

It's not even chili anymore it's just soup with beans,corn,tomato,and I don't know what else.I interview 5 kids at LAAMS and they agreed that they don't like it because it doesn't have flavor. But on the other side their was a kid that likes vegetarian chili because he said he was vegetarian and he was in a diet.
